To avoid problems later, the patient needs to confirm the doctor’s participation directly with the plan. While we can tell a patient that we think the doctor is in the plan, we need to place the burden of confirmation on the patient. Each network has subnetworks and some are also marketed by multiple entities and names. The only way to be certain is to contact the insurance plan directly.
